[Updated] A group of wild yellow flowers to be identified I added two more pictures, a closer shot of the flowers and of the stalk and leaves. The color of the two is a bit darker than the first because I took them around 7:00 PM. As said before, some of them exceed six feet in height, and they reside in central Florida.
dont know exact name but i too live in fla and they are growing everywhere.not sure where you are,but if you are in orlando area and get a chance, take a drive over lake jessup on the north bound 417 "greenway" and on the sanford side of the lake there are millions blooming now.it is quite beautiful.
Looks like it might be Spanish Needles, Begger Ticks, Bidens. See if it has sharp "needles" that stick to your clothes, when the plant matures. Maybe B. mitis
Could even be Helianthus floridanus. More plant details would help on these composites. You might even have to look at minute details of the flowers and use a key, but if it is common, then someone should know what it is.
Yes, definitely of the Helianthus family. Helianthus floridanus seems likely; there is also Helianthus angustifolius, which looks similar. Thanks, Nandan Kalbag, toutlan, tipularia, and Davidm. :)
