    Here are a few highlights for me from David C. Lam Asian Garden Members Tour today, led by Douglas Justice.

    The Magnolia sprengeri 'Eric Savill' didn't have enough open flowers two days ago to be worth a photo, but today it already is very showy and there are still lots of buds yet to open. The flowers look to me like they were a a bit damaged from the frost.

    Rhododendron rosevallon is notable for the purple leaf backs. Leaf fronts are green. Flowers will be red.

    This Ilex latifolia has a nice crop of berries this year. Its astounding feature for a holly is its huge leaves, many of them longer than my hand span.
