Here's a Viburnum bodnantense at the east entrance of the Reception Centre, not a lot of flowers yet, and not really fragrant today. Douglas Justice wrote an article about these in this month's Newsletter (these newsletters are emailed, not generally accessible online - you can sign up to receive them). The newsletter has a link to the Botany Photo of the Day feature on one of the cultivars in the garden. This group of Hesperantha coccinea on the left as you approach the Shop in the Garden makes a nice display. These are supposed to bloom late summer to autumn.
Many will still know the second one as Schizostylis. Since its flowers are pink rather than scarlet - and its petals may be broader - I wonder if it is a horticultural form rather than an example of the typical plant as usually seen in nature.
