A cactus - is it sick?

    No need for a determination of cactus.
    In the 2 photos provided, you can see some sort of whitish 'tissue' spreading from the bottom of the cactus. Just curious what us that? Is it sick?

    I don't know...how old is it? And does it feel squishy at all, at the white bits?

    It does not look like rot, older parts often get corky (as this thread). I think it is a Parodia from the ottonis group.

    Doesn't look sick to me.
    Keep an eye on it though to be safe.
