8 June 2021 Mulching Potatoes Posted on June 8, 2021 by Durgan 8 June 2021 Mulching Potatoes 8 June 2021 Mulching Potatoes Ten yards of wood chip mulch was delivered to mulch the vegetable garden, cost ten dollars per yard. The potato patch of a 15 plant row of Yukon Gold and a row of Superior was first. Main purpose is to retain moisture. The bed was cleared of weeds before applying the mulch.
Seed was two five pound bags. I used about half of each, cost about six dollars each. Labour free for pristine produce. I will get about 50 pounds for my Winter cold room plus what I use during the growing season. I expect from 3 t0 5 pounds per plant weather accommodating. Total 30 plants.
