    Twenty one tomato plants each received a pail of rain water collected from my house roof. Water was transported via wheelbarrow. Two wheelbarrows full is sufficient. Tomatoes are thriving but no ripe ones as yet.

    Excellent thread for advertising rain water harvesting. This should be the normal for every household gardener.
