The round ones are Sugar Baby. The one striped one over wintered and came up from seed. I counted 15 in the garden. The one picked weighed 5 kilo. It was excellent. Having grown them off and on over the years, I am still a novice in establishing ripeness.
Beautiful melon, Durgan. I saw Alton Brown on a cooking show once saying the key to watermelon ripeness is the spot where it sits. If it is yellow, it is ripe. If it is still white, it is not ripe yet. This has worked very well for me at the store.
