No, I forgot the 'e', it is indeed Ercole, and they're made by Psquini & Bini. Teah @maf. they are good pots. A full (of roots) pot is very similar to a full airpot, you can just pop it directly into the larger size without any correction needed. And given the price difference, I guess the new "superpot" is really going to give airpot some serious competition. (Butterfly Chair, I was half afraid to look that one up, lol). -E
@emery, very nice pots. I can't find any over here yet. I'm still using the grow bags. But looking for something different for the smaller trees. The 30g and up works pretty good for the larger trees.
Haven't had time for picture taking, but have a couple in the queue. Here are variegated sycamores from last year, there are 3 or 4 times as many, some better than others, but I thought these looked nice. -E
No, or almost certainly not; since they're dug out of the ground, it's impossible to really know who the parent is. But the two big sycamores they come up under, very close, are 'Prince Camille de Rohan' and 'Corstorphinense', Both of those two throw variegated seedlings (in some percentage, and more or less variegated). I usually assume the ones with purple undersides are from Prince Camille, the green undersides from Corstorphinense, that that might not be so. Anyway sycamore seed goes everywhere, I destroy thousands every spring. -E
Couple of snaps..I’m hoping the first one with green veins makes it to maturity. The variegated leafed seeding was born near my peaches and cream and appears to have tgat kind of leaf shape
My pink seedling looks a lot like your last picture shape-wise. Is the parent a ghost-type variety? Mine is growing very slowly, still has only a single set of true leaves 3-4 months later. Hoping it builds the vigor to survive.
I decided to put labels on some intersesting seedlings. Rich-1,2, and 3 (#4 comming soon !) are from seeds sent by @dicky5ash, the one with red wood is perhaps from my 'Sango kaku', and the last two were collected at Kalmthout arboretum under a Koto-no-Ito in Oct. 2024 by my friend Isabelle...
@AlainK - All of those look really good - looking forward to seeing #4 :) This one emerged in 2020 i think: Same seedling now..colour changes over the past month: it went yellow for a week before red, but I think I missed taking a photo
