You must be incredibly lucky! Cosmos or Radiant are usually only sold at specialist nurseries, not at B&Q. B&Q typically stocks the common varieties mass-produced in Europe for garden centres. This must be a one-off, or perhaps a rare tree accidentally sent along with the common stock. It’s like stumbling upon a hidden gem in a pile of ordinary stones.

Oh! lol. Well, I did think it looked nice and unusual for B&Q when I first saw it (see pics on my 1st post in this thread) hence why I bought it. It was more expensive than others at B&Q though. The following week there was an Extravaganza as well although I didn't go for it. Must have been something about that time!

Now that you tell me it's a hidden gem, I'm going to look at it with even more esteem!

I will still be on the look out for an Ukigumo though!

Just FYI, Radiant/Cosmos are the same clone. Radiant was graft source selected from "the best variegation on Cosmos", not a sport, genetically identical.

I don't know what the OP has, but I don't think it's Cosmos. (Radiant is a synonym). -E

    Thanks for the info, Emery.

I've uploaded a few more in case it helps with I.D.

I still think the closest I have seen is Cosmos, in terms of leaf shape, colouration of leaves and stems and the overall shape of the tree.

Having said that, mine doesnt look much like yours, Roebuk!

    Go figure!
