Hello, I am curious as to what these 2 plants are, so if anyone has any clues to the names or even the family of the plants that would be great :-)

They were located near an open field near a source of water in Southeastern PA

First is a dock Rumex (a weed!).

Second is something in the sedge family Cyperaceae.

Sedges are so exotic and interesting when you really look at them.
