I live in Spokane, Wa... the land I am on used to be an orchard (We have several apple and pear trees producing this year)... I found these berries on several trees in the yard, and have tried to identify them myself but honestly know very little about how to about this. The berries on each seem to be similar, but the leaves are slightly different.

The berries are small, with a little dot on the bottom, and sometimes grow into each other, the skin is smooth, the inside is red, and the one I broke open had six seeds.

The leaves are smooth (but not waxy)...

Any help identifying these berries would be extremely appreciated, my husband is wondering if they are edible?

(The first two pictures are one tree, the second two pictures are another.)

Not edible for people. Birds eat them freely.
