    1) Have you ever bought a maple just because of the name?

I plead guilty with geisha gone wild and olsen frosted strawberry

    2) Any blind buys?

Sometimes a come across a tempting nursery maple description with no accompanying picture. I haven't done this yet, but curious about any positive or negative experiences out there.

Your honor, I plead GUILTY! :-)

1.) Yes, I have to say I bought Olsen's Frosted Strawberry because it sounded like a delicious dessert!

2.) And I have taken a chance and bought cultivars sight unseen. Latest example was 'Tsukasa Silhouette' from World Plants. Ironically it is my favorite from that whole order! So far, I haven't gotten stung yet! Go ahead Paxi, live dangerously!!

I bought Purple Ghost because of the name. I am also partial to Japanese names that are pronounceable and just fun to say, like Osakazuki. Almost makes me feel like I can speak the language;)

Sight unseen this year I bought JB-33 from Topiary, just because if it was an unregistered cultivar but was being kept around and sold, it must be neat. It was. I really like it.
