2 June 2020 Garlic Seeds (bulbils)
These plants are garlic seeds the small seeds produced at the end of scapes. They are not true seeds, since garlic cannot make new strains since the seeds only produce clones meaning nothing new. They were planted in the Fall last year and produce one small bulb about the size of a small marble, called rounds. The rounds when planted produce a bulb with about four cloves. The cloves planted the second year produce normal sized clones of the mother garlic. This method of obtaining planting stock means the full crop may be utilized and a new field of garlic is produced every three years. Clean and disease free.
