I'm looking to identify a plant that I saw in a hospital. It was a pot plant, not taller than 30 cm. , the leaves were some kind of triangular shape cca. 5 cm long. The amazing thing was the colour of them: on top a "normal" green but on the back a deep red colour. Can help me some one to identify it ? Thanks.

Maybe an Alocasia or a Syngonium? On the other hand, if they had leaves like shamrocks, it might have been Oxalis. This is very hard to do without a picutre, because a lot of tropical foliage plants answer to your description.

sounds very much like oxalis, to me. could possibly be syngonium - their leaves are more an arrowhead shape though, rather than just triangular (that's where the common name 'arrowhead vine' comes from).

any way you can post a pic of the plant so we can do a positive id?

Thanks Ron. The think is that I didn't find in my "The Gardens Encyclopedia of Plants & Flowers" (1989) its description and how to plant it. Rene.
