    The 2007 cover crop of double-cut red annual clover was effectively winter killed. This procedure is to fix nitrogen in the soil. The bed is now ready for vegetable planting, when the weather warms.

    Looks like you are ready to rock and roll Durgan :-) What are those big leaf plants beside the bed there? Just curious

    Also they grow to that size in 1 season? I like the look of it. It does look like a tobacco plant?

    The big leaf plants are brussel sprouts. I had ten plants and they last until about December, since frost doesn't hurt the quality. I did grow two tobacco plants, since the flowers are very attractive, as is the vegetation, but in another area of the yard.
