The Mikawa yatsubusa did made new leaves, i can't see roots so far but i have good hopes.
Your pictures show why I love this cultivar, so much different tones depending on where the light hits... the whole tree in full leaves is always...

It is indeed a weird spring this year, all my maples that leafed out early showed good colors but were damaged by the frosts;
Good point, altghout I am in the south and do not eat and travel often to the north part.
They have the sea so I guess there's some good meals out...

I airlayered last month i think..as soon as it was in full leaf.
I m affraid 80% of the leaves are totally dry and don't do their job anymore,...
