Cactus Question

    A while ago i was givin a cactus from a friend b/c he was moving the bottom of the cactus is all brown and dead looking and i was hoping for a way to repant it if there is one.

    I was also wonder if some on can tell me the type of cactus it is just so i can know.

    And also there are these buds growing on it and somethings falling off is there anything i can do with these??

    Cut off the healthy top section. Let the fresh cut callus for a day. Brush some rooting hormone on the bottom. Set the plant in some sand or some rooting gel. Once the new roots start to grow, you can transplant it into an appropriate cacti/succulent mix.

    That is some type of Echinopsis you have there.

    I don't think there is much you can do about the buds falling off, that's just what they do. However, they put out a lot of them, so a few will likely flower. The night-blooming flowers will be breathtaking.

    Looks like you need to get a better-draining soil. Less potting soil, more grit.
