I love the green foliage but the blossoms make a mess and stain carpets. Any idea how to keep the plant but prevent or reduce its ability to blossom? Thanks

I'm definitely no expert, but I've been reading that they thrive and bloom best when a little dry. Maybe you could water yours more often.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will see if that helps.

The blossoms are its main feature. They are papery and last very long on the plant. Here, in the tropics, they fall off only when they are bone dry, colourless, and completely non-staining.

May be you should remove them from the plant a bit early so that they do not drop off by themselves. That way, you can enjoy the blooms and save the carpet too. Another point is that in India they are strictly outdoor flowerers. They just remain green in the shade.
