Just new to the forum and wanted to find out what to do for an old vibernum. Last summer we noticed that the back half of this old 30 foot high shrub was dying, ie. brown, curled skeleton of leaves, then this spring it came back with gorgeous white snowball flowers, then shortly after started to dye. We noticed lots of small larvae on the leaves and they basically worked/ate all the way up to the top. We cut the whole tree down to 5 foot then went to the local nursery to get some advice. They said that Vibernum should never be planted on the west coast (BC) and should be cut down completely and plant something different. Does anyone think we are able to save this shrub? Thanks,
