I have a lilac & a dogwood tree that are on their way out but before I pull them out of the ground to replace them, I would like to know how I can plant the suckers or is that possible? What is the procedure for that please.
    Thanks

Further to my previous post re: lilac tree

I just had a closer look at the lilac tree & see that the one stalk that has growth on it is attached above ground to the main stalk so I guess that isn't a sucker? Would I just cut it off, put it in rooting hormone and into some soil then?
    Thank you.
