Mealys on Jade Plants

Has anyone had any success in getting rid of a massive mealy bug infestation on my jade plant leaves. I suspect we may also have some in the roots as does our cactus.

 

Try to clean out with rubbing alcohol (with Q-tips)

 

Thanks, have tried that and soap/windex but there are too many. They overwintered in a heated greenhouse and they are just full of them. Thanks anyway. Given all the remidies, there must be something that is more effective.
