    Hi all
I am interested in edible taro or kalo as called in Hawaii and these are the Colocassia esculenta varieties with law oxalate crystals and are not that deadly or irritating the throat and other organs

In my garden I found 2 types of Allocasia which are similar and could be A. macrorrhiza or A. gageana or other

I am interested about the edibility of this types

This looks like it is a member of the Arum family or Araceae; I believe only the root is edible and that is only after boiling it. You may want Google Hawaiian cuisine or something similar to that to figure out how to do it correctly without having your throat swell up. Good luck Ariel

    Dear Botanicalbela
    Thanks for the reply
My question concerns the identification of the types I found in my garden and are shown in my email
I can add other photos of that family members but it does not give me a clear answer about what I have. I contacted the Botanical Gardens of Jerusalem but the professor there told me they do not have these plants in the collection
