My husband went downtown and brought me back some plants. They are the same type of plant, but one has pink flowers and the other has purple flowers. The first picture the flowers are starting to droop. I think it needs water, but I'm afraid to over water. He didn't think to ask what type of plant it is, and it has no card.. so I have no idea how to take care of it. Please help me identify, so I can care for it. Oh and we are in Hessen Germany, not sure if that makes any difference on the type of plant. :) Thanks
Someone else will give you the name (very common, but I can't 'get' it right now, however I do know that you shouldn't be afraid to water it if you think it's needed, and it may be needed fairly often.
Hi Liz, You can give your cyclamen a good soaking and then let it dry slightly. What you have is a florist cultivar. Take a look here. http://www.cyclamen.org/cultiv_set.html http://www.cyclamen.org/hybrid_set.html http://themagicgarden.com/library/houseplants.html#Cyclamen Newt
hi i would be careful on how much water you give them as you can over water them very easily as i did give em a bit of water in summer when needed and in the cold winter months either lie the pots on their sides or remove the corms from the pot and re pot when it warms up again
