Placing them in families is easy enough, in their genera more difficult, but identifying to species would require specialist knowledge of the Kenya flora.

    From left to right:

Family Acanthaceae, colour and markings remind me of genus Duvernoia -- but Acanthaceae very diverse in E Africa

Family Convolvulaceae, probably Ipomoea sp. In most parts of the tropics there is a mix of local native and weedy pantropical Ipomoea spp.

Family Portulacaceae, probably either Anacampseros or Portulaca, both diverse in Africa

    Thank you very much TonyR

However it does not seem likely that the first picture is of the family:Acanthaceae
since this family has plants with thorns...
I have added another more overall image of the plant with its foliage to make it easier to identify, i hope this norrows it down more...

the other two plants is more or less what i thought of as well
Thanks again... especially for your speedy reply:)
    Tom.

The majority of Acanthaceae are spineless, though many African ones have spines associated with the leaf axils or inflorescence bracts. I am still fairly sure this a member of Acanthaceae and probably one of the Justicioid genera (of which Duvernoia is one). Family characteristics include opposite leaves with swollen nodes, flowers usually strongly 2-lipped, fruit a club-shaped, 2-valved capsule that opens explosively, flicking the seeds.

Am I right about the flower identification

    Hi...

I am trying to find if i am close to the identification of this beautiful pink flower found when in Kenya....
I found a very similar picture on the internet, can someone (especially TonyR:)) tell me if i am close to the identification of the pink flower.

    Thanks
    Tom:)

    four wild flowers to id

    Hi...

i have decided to create a website that has images of all four flowers i would like to id.
Each of them have multiple images of different angles and perspectives.

i hope this helps, since i do not think posting all these images on the forum is practical.

please have a look at what you think these flowers are:)

so far, from other people i have asked claim that:

FLOWER 1 - Acanthaceae family (some think even Orchid family)
FLOWER 2 - Ipomoea sp. (probably I. spathulata or I. cairica)
FLOWER 3 - Portulacaceae family (probably P. kermesina)
    FLOWER 4 - Oldenlandia ????

    help appreciated
    Tom:)
