    hello,

i've heard of this ficus but can't find any information online for it.

it may be that i'm spelling the name wrong or was misinformed.

if anyone has heard of anything similar to this, would you be kind enough to respond.

    thank you ! ^_^

    sincerely,

Have you tried Googling it and seeing what the Latin name comes up as in whatever links you get?

    hello rima and james d.,

    thank you for your replies.

i did try google-ing it but can't find a thing. i don't know where my friend got this name as i haven't been able to reach him again.

i was asking what was an alternative to 'ficus benjamina' for a shrub and he said this one.

very frustrating. it could be that he has a friend that thinks he or she has a new variety and just named it for their own use.

in any event, thank you again !

    thanks for the reply saltcedar,

i'm beginning to think some local grower named it that without it being an official name, because i can't find any information on it.

of course, it could be a perfectly legitimate plant, and i'm too ignorant to know it.

    thanks again, though.

actually, if i can get my hands on a photo of what they are calling "ficus green jean", i'll post it.

    ^_^
