I have this plant growing in a bed that was started before I bought the house. It was there last year and I cut it down so I could plant my flowers and it's back again. Is this something pretty or something weedy?

Just a wild guess, but it might be a phlox.

I thought phlox crept... does it usually get this tall? The dianthis beside it is about a foot and a half tall so that plant is really tall. Thanks for your reply!

I was thinking of garden phlox (Phlox paniculata), which grows about a metre high, grows in a spreading clump, and comes in pinks, purples, magenta and white. Just a guess.
