I took possession of a new home, and I am having trouble finding out what this is,(maybe shrub). I also would love advice on how to make the flowers more plentiful and the foliage less showy and possibly how to cut it back for the fall. The flowers go purple, pink and baby blue in the mid to end of summer. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

it may not be endless summer , it may just be a hydrangea macrophylla, i wouldn't cut it back this fall because hydrangea macrophyllas flower on second year growth, and cuting it back you woul be cutting off all of the flower buds for next year. if you want to prune it do it after it blooms next summer. in ontarion, unless you live in the south it is difficult to have hydrangeas be that plentiful of flowers because our cold winters cause the flower buds to freeze and die. hope that helps
