Trying again...........

    I hope I downloaded it correctly, I took a picture at Universal Studios in Orlando, have been trying to contact them to get info on what kind of shrub this is. Very pretty purple flowers, not a butterfly bush. Please help if anyone knows what kind of plant this is. Thanks to all..ET

    may be a type of Tibouchina, AKA princess flower

    Definately Tibouchina urvilleana aka Princess Flower. Native to Brazil where it grows approx 15-20 feet tall...I think it has also naturalized in Hawaii. It is such a gorgeous shrub - I have to treat it as an annual up here in BC but down Florida you should have no trouble growing it outside. I envy you!
