In The Garden: Plant ID help

Hello everyone, I have been trying to ID this plant since 2019. Saw this in Waltham, Mass. Thoughts and thank yous?

Looks like Amsonia sp.
In summer leaves are green ,with wishy washy pale blue flowers, but in the autumn it goes this super colour.
Pics below show our Amsonia hubrichtii in old garden.

 

Wow - I'm surprised that someone could recognize this from that one photo, and wow, @Silver surfer, that you had this plant from central Arkansas in your garden, but it's clearly made its way into garden landscaping. Here's a page about it with a short video:

What does it do in the winter - that page says herbaceous perennial, so does it all disappear?

 

In our old garden we collected plants,shrubs, trees.....many were unusual and rare.
Other people would collect stamps...we collected plants! I suppose it was an obsession.

We had several Amsonia, including Ciliate, Hubrichtii, Illustris,Tabernaemontana.
New garden all I have is Amsonia orientalis. ..leaves very different. see pics below.
Hubrichtii was the best..it just glowed in the autumn.
In winter it just vanishes completely and re appears in the spring.
