Identification: Hard white fungi in lawn

    These look like they might be irregular growths of Ganoderma mushrooms arising from buried wood. The species would be difficult to determine without more info.

    Largest one is about 1 foot across. Texture a bit like gypsum board….yes, a tree was removed so yes, roots likely being broken down.

    Although yes this certainly looks like a laccate Ganoderma, growing a bit oddly ... because the growth pattern is very like Onnia tomentosa, I'd like to ask @Polar2 : Was the removed tree a spruce?
