Hi Karen! I love California Poppies. They grow wild in some areas here on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, such as near Victoria. Last fall I threw some seeds on the edge of my sandy, rocky driveway (where nothing will grow but weeds), covered them very lightly with some potting soil and never went near them again. Lo and behold, in late November there was little seedlings! I fully believed they would expire over the winter, but to my amazement they are now 6" tall and very healthy looking. I'm sooooo pleased. And another bonus is that the deer don't like them. If they do ok this summer, the whole front of my property will be California Poppies!

Where would you go to find Calif. poppy seeds?

Hi. West Coast Seed Co. has them. Ask your nursery to order some for you if they don't have them.
