New plant growing in my garden in quite a bit of shade

    It came up in the Spring, but is dying back now in the heat.

    Presumably some kind of aroid. But: how does the first picture relate to the others?

    Hi Ron, the first picture wasn't supposed to be part of this thread. I believe I have/had some aroids planted in more shade. Perhaps they spread here.

    It could be arisarum proboscideum aka mouse plant. Young plants do not always produce flowers and if they do you may not see them as they tend to be hidden by the leaves. They prefer shade and are starting to die off now for the season, but they will reappear in early spring. And they will spread.

    The 1st picture wasn't supposed to be posted. I believe I have some aroids around, perhaps it sent a seed in that direction. Thank you Ron.

    Yes I have some arisarum proboscideum aka mouse plant, planted in a more shady spot along with some dodecatheons. Thank you pmurphy.
