The Olympic Station Akebono looks quite happy while those across the street are still just waking.

I passed these this evening and was late, so I didn't stop. The ones across the street are known 'Snow Goose'. I think this one is too.

The 'Beni-shidare' on the north side of W. 13th, east of Fir, is flourishing at March 23, 2022.

Here are photos of those trees. I forgot that I had taken a photo last year of one with its Snowgoose nursery tag still attached! The Rancho is also there.

On the seawall path by Granville Island there is a new row of Shirofugen (one with nursery tag still attached :) joining the nice old Kanzen grove there and over at Ron Basford Park on the island. The Kanzen outside the old Molson Brewery at the south end of Burrard Bridge are looking good with the festival banners fluttering along the bridge before the rainstorm.

'Kanzan' on West 3rd, just east of Burrard. I really drove by looking for the 'Pink Perfection', which I think must be gone. I wasn't planning to photograph the street, but there it was in my mirror, not too much trouble. And this "magical" two-tone 'Kanzan'/avium was right there on the corner.

'Shogetsu'. I posted it at Fairview, and said I wasn't confident of the ID. But I felt pretty confident when I saw your photos and when I see what I posted six years ago.

Nice perspective on the trees from across False Creek.

Well the chilly spring has resulted in one blossom on the Island Walk bike path between Granville Island and Vanier Park surviving into the summer!

@yaletowner, don't tell us you saw that 'Shiro-fugen' flower as you rode by on your bike!

Shogetsu at Creekside Park stairs are also in bloom. ID 1733 pin says there's another tree on the other side of the stairs that is possibly ito-kukuri but today I found that both seemed to look identical? With the green leagy things in the centre of white frilly blossoms and pink buds. So possibly both Shogetsu though that other tree isn't doing as well and more of the rootstock variety has taken over.

OK, thanks, Yong! I changed the text for marker ID 1733 to say "Two nice trees at the 1st Ave entrance to Creekside Park, one on each side of the stairs. There is also a Prunus avium that maybe used to be 'Ito-kukuri'." Is the sweet cherry still there? Are both trees "nice" or should I make the marker more about the one to the south of the stairs?

They're nice in different ways? At least they're still cherry blossoms? The North side tree branches are a bit mixed together whereas the South just has that one pure Shogetsu.

Ha-ha. OK, now it says "Two 'Shogetsu' at the 1st Ave entrance to Creekside Park, one on each side of the stairs".

There are 4 'Shiro-fugen' blooming now at the Dockside Restaurant patio.
Three older ones, and one young one.

The two ‘Whitcomb’ on Lameys Mill Road are not looking good. Signs of frost damage on 95% of the buds. And signs of stress, too.
