Identification: Is this red pygmy?

    I think we should trust Dick Wolff as to the name as he introduced the tree and his catalog listed 'Hubbs Red Willow'. Also, one of the forum members here purchased directly from Wolff's Red Maple Nursery with the tree labeled 'Hubbs Red Willow' not Hubb's or Hupp's.

    Seems Mr. Maple and Peter Gregory are questionable in their naming.
    A copy of the catalog is on the forum as well as relevant posts in a couple locations.

    Totally agree G and it's listed as such in the maple cultivar photos forum under the correct name.

    A few midsummer pics of one that has lived in containers for over 20 years. I like the way you get tight clumps of leaves, makes me think of bad haircuts for some reason!

    Here is the comparison of the two RPs. The lighter colour one is a RP for sure, unless it is mislabeled.
