Are you sure, I think these appear longer and not flared on end as in Trumpet Honeysuckle

This flower was in Ecuador, I should have included in the first query. I tried to look at many images online and identify. Seems like a longer more cylindrical flower. I looked at Cape Fuschia as well but didn't seem to match

Struggling....the calyx are rather interesting and should help with accurate id.
They are kind of square and ridged.

I'm struggling also. My thoughts of Lonicera Trumpet honeysuckle is the closest I can think of.

Yes, sorry I should have put in original post, the plant was in Ecuador. The first picture was taken by myself at the same location (Birdwatcher's House) as the second photo which is online. I included the second photo because it shows more of the flowers and foliage. I am a hummingbird photographer and I try to learn about the flowers and identify them correctly in my photos.

    I appreciate everyone's help.
this one looks very close! Maybe it is the one?

Yes thank you, I do appreciate your help. I put in the original reply to Acerholic that the flower was in Ecuador but not in original post, I apologize. Here is another image I found online from Mindo Ecuador appears to be same flower, but the flower not identified in photo.

Your post 13 above with pic is definitely the same flower as yours!

    2nd plant.
I have been concentrating on those different /very distinctive calyx.

This pic shows the same flower as you have...note the angled calyx.
    RUFOUS-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD

I believe it is Macleania sp...interesting ..it is in Ericaceae

    Macleania - Wikipedia
    Not positive which species.

This link show the same flattened seed capsules as your images 2/3/4.

Maybe a good starting point to research more.

Yes that is perfect! I agree I think you have tracked it down, and the picture with Rufous-tailed hummingbird is clearly the same plant. I agree Macleania species based on similarity in very distinctive calyx! Thank you so much for your expert assistance and I will continue to research

I think it looks like Macleania bullata.... Many more pictures I can find online also look like a match with my flower. Thanks again for your expert help

    I don't see a common name, but I am convinced M. bullata
