British Columbia: Where to buy Big Bags of Perlite

Hello all,

Is there a place around Vancouver that sells big bags (4 cu ft) of Coarse grade Perlite? Alternatively vermiculite would be acceptable.

I have been looking for a week with no luck.

GrowerCentral carries Perlite Horticultural Grade in 110 L size which is roughly 4 cu.ft. Don't know whether horticultural grade equates to coarse size though.

 

They quoted about $14 a bag and carry both perlite and vermiculite in medium grade, which is good enough. You are a lifesaver.

@Junglekeeper do you know of another source. It seems like Grower Central's site does not work anymore.
I looked on Home depot and it's about $55 bucks **YIKES*

 

Grower Central was bought out by another company. I don't know of another source. Hopefully someone here can provide an alternative.

 

Have a look at the following thread for some possible sources: where to find supplies for 5:1:1 and gritty mix potting mixes in Vancouver. Perlite was specifically mentioned.

 

Not much cheaper but Sun Tai Sang Farm on 4886 SE Marine Dr in Burnaby had a 4 cu.ft. bag for $49 today.

 

Found a 4 cu ft bag of fine perlite @ PNW Garden Supply in Surrey about a week ago, was the last one they had and while it was a little finer than what I normally use, it suited the purpose quite well actually: doing hypertufa work with it. I used to buy it from Nutrien/GrowerCentral in Delta but they admitted to having had great difficulty getting supplies and on top of that they no longer do counter sales.
