Great trees, and it's great to see you back. If you're in as good a shape as your trees, then everything's fine. ;-)

Still trying to re-arrange my garden. I mowed the front lawn (thought my lawn-mower would die), and tried to find new places for the maples. Some are so heavy that now I can hardly move them, especially those whose roots have come out from the hole in the pot.

Anyway, just a draft : I cut out some branches of my Agnus castus and placed some I could repot at the "entrance", with potted tulips.

My little shirasawanum "Aureum' is definitely neon-shining at sunset. The 'Dissectum atrpurpureum' badly need rpotting, but I just couldn't do it. I hope one of my sons will help me in Autumn now.

Happy Easter everyone, well it's a sugar rush for so many today. So some quiet before our grandchildren arrive....lol.
A cup of calm coffee amongst my trees is the order of the moment. So here are a few.

Not me Soumil, but I'm sure these days it is quite lucrative. If it is a venture you are thinking of, there are worse ways to make a living.

Good morning everyone on this lovely Easter Monday. Here in Southern England it's bright sunshine to wake up to, can't be bad. And so, forth day in a row having early coffee outside amongst my maples. Of course I took a few photos to share.

Acer sinense, Acer truncatum, Acer triflorum in full leaves now, and though from the same family, a blurred picture of the buds on Acer griseum, always the last one to bud out :

PS : the architecture of the scales on griseum made me think of "Art déco", a bit like the top of the Chrysler building... ^^

The last one I had hasn't budded : it's dead.

I won't get one again : I lost another one last year. That means they're not fit for here, or for me. I'll enjoy the photos you post where they can thrive.

    ;-)

I haven't dared put one in the ground yet, and have gradually been losing the potted ones over the years. I used to keep them close to the house in winter and that got them through some really cold years, but kept losing the odd one or two. I have three live ones and one kind of dead one left from my original ten or so. Finally I have caved and will be keeping them in the greenhouse every winter from now on. This year was the first in the greenhouse and am predicting about four weeks early to leaf out, so around May 1st!

Outdoors here we can usually expect it to be leafed out by June 1st! Even in my greenhouse which has been getting to 30C on sunny days nothing is happening yet.... today I thought some of the buds looked like they had grown from 1mm to 2mm, but it might be an optical illusion!

I'm having a very slow time with leafing out of so many cultivars and species maples. I think it's going to be middle May when I can be certain that they are all OK. Perhaps they learnt from 2021 when there were so many late Spring frosts. If that's the case then tbh I'm pleased !!!

I'm afraid this is too short a period for trees to adapt to a different climate...

I lost 4 or 5 pentaphyllums last year, they really are difficult. Luckily I have a lot of seedlings, one of which only is already leafef out, most don't come out until mid-june.

I learned last week I lost a large pauciflorum last spring, it was a zombie all last year. Luckily I have another established in the ground, in a slightly easier place.

Well, I still haven't figured out my computer issues, I think the phone has a new format that is not understood, so I will post some pictures from my phone. I've tried to label the pictures, at least one picture of a particular plant, unfortunately these are impossible to see on the phone, so we'll get what we get. Sort of a random selection, walking around.

I am really enjoying all the pictures in the thread!

Some amazing Spring photos being shown here, so I thought I would add a few more of mine whilst the sun is shining this morning. A definite chill in the air though.

It rained in Ireland, now that's a surprise...lol. all conducive to giving perfect conditions for your maples. Very nice @irshmerc
