    Hi everyone,

I need help with a dying Croton Gold Dust. Actually I'm not sure whether it's already dead. I left it unwatered for 5 days and all the leaves dropped. Now all that is left is the main thick stem which is green underneath if I scratch it. It used to look like in the 1st photo. Now no leaves whatsoever. Can it still be saved ? I feel so sorry for it, I'm not ready to throw it away.

    Welcome to the Forums.

If there's green, there's hope. I'd give it as much light as possible. The plant's need for water will be much reduced since it has no leaves to transpire moisture. Therefore, keep watering to a minimum. Hopefully new buds will sprout from the main stem.

Thank you very much for your reply. Is there anything else I should do, except plenty of light? Like nutrients or something to increase its chances of recovery?

It would probably be best to withhold feeding the plant until there are signs of new growth, at which time it can be fertilized at half the recommended strength.
