Identification: Mushroom Identification

    I am hoping you can help me identify this mushroom? The largest of the group had a cap of approximately 6.5 inches across with light grey/cream gills and stalk. The stalk was about 3 inches long. The top of the cap was yellow with brown and maybe a subtle scale on top but difficult to see.
    It was seen on a trunk of a dead tree in the Fraser Valley.

    Can't see too much detail here, but so far it looks like a Pholiota, possibly P. aurivella/limonella group member.
    Might have had more scales before the rain :-)

    I didn't realize the scales can wash off in the rain. Thanks for helping to narrow it down!
