These are not new trees, but I'm sure I've never seen them. I am surprised that I've never even posted Paulownia tomentosa here, but there are a lot of those around town, common name Princess Tree. Here's today's surprising sight from the parking lot: On the left is P. kawakamii; on the right, P. fargesii. The currently white-flowered P. fargesii is supposed to have started with purple flowers. Here is the Paulownia fargesii, which is at the end of its blooming. And Paulownia kawakamii. And a bee that is probably still there, seemingly having died and gone to heaven.
