Some research that the Garden has contributed to: What is the Root Cause of Yellow-Cedar Decline? - UBC Botanical Garden
Interesting there's no sign of this decline where they are planted in Britain, despite very low snowfall in most areas. So I'll offer a radical new hypothesis: in Britain, it is happy, because we call it Nootka Cypress, as it is a cypress. Failure to call it a cypress leads to it sickening and dying out of despair. #PlantNamesForPlants #TreeNamesForTrees :-)
