Was pulling out weeds in my lawn and came across this little plant (possibly a weed and purple in color), 20210621_073431.jpg 20210621_073930.jpg 20210621_073944.jpg which was growing close to white clovers (Trifolium repens). For size comparison, its flower may be just slightly larger than a white clover. Any idea what this plant/weed may be?

Ah-ha! That little sweetie is on my get-rid-of list for tomorrow. I know it as 'Self-heal' or 'Heal All" - Prunella vulgaris. There are 2 similar BC natives: Prunella vulgaris ssp. lanceolata and Prunella vulgaris ssp. vulgaris which may possibly be the same but, regardless, it is not something I want growing in my garden. I find it quite easy to pull, even out of the lawn. If you let it go to seed, you will be sorry.

Yes it seeds very well so be sure to get it before flowers expire ie become seed heads

Fortunately is is easy to pull up.

I spent half an hour in the heat just now to eliminate this patch of Heal-all. It's really quite pretty and, if it weren't so prone to self-seeding and spreading, I'd have left it alone.
