Beautiful cascading dissectum with unique coloration. These pictures reflect the greening that occurs in Summer; much more red in Spring and more orange in Fall.

Here are a few spring shots of my Orangeola... I can't wait for this plant to grow into itself.. I bought this because of its feathery texture and how light its growth pattern is, the full grown orangeolas I have seen, seem more like a leafy waterfall than a plant.

Here are pictures of what I think is an Orangeola, this maple and others japanese maples can be found at Descanso Gardens
(http://www.descansogardens.org/site/) in the Japanese Garden section (how fitting). The gardens are located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains just outside of Los Angeles in a community call LaCañada Flintridge.

The Maple didn't have a tag on it, but size, leaf shape, and growth pattern reminded me of the Orangeolas I have seen. ( If I am incorrect in my assumption, let me know and I will repost this under the correct variation.)

Here pics of my orangeola taken in May - it stays pretty red all year. (Kasagi yama in the foreground.)

I love this forum. The info provided led me to this Orangeola purchase.
I planted this 3 year old graft under the evening shade of a sugar maple.
Can't wait to see the fall color.
This picture was taken mid summer (late July) in northern Indiana - zone 6.

I love my Orangeola! I'm excited to see it side by side next to my sam-size Inaba Shidare in a month or two when they are fully leafed out. I have a feeling that Orangeola will still be my favorite.

photo taken just a few days ago after re-potting to its new home for a few years :)

My new Orangeola. I thought about planting it but decided to put it into a container for this year. It is starting to look more like cousin it.

I bought an Orangeola this spring-- the tag said one thing, the burlap ball tag and bucket said another. I grabbed it and headed to the register.

It was the brightest thing in the yard this fall... I'm hoping it does well over the winter. This spring I think I'll need to dig it up and take care of some root issues I noticed when I planted it.

This is my new Acer palmatum 'Orangeola ', 13th July 2020. It has been placed near my seating area in full afternoon sun along with a few of my other dissectum's. I find that the dissectum varieties handle sun a lot better than other palmate cultivars.
This maple will form a lovely colourful mound shape about 3 ft high in ten years. Mine is only a 4 year old tree atm.
I am really looking forward to the Autumn colours. More photos to follow.

22nd July 2020, a couple of little spots here and there, but as promised I will show close ups to show how it's coping. I'm still very pleased with this cultivar.

My Orangeola has not enjoyed this heavy rain as much as a lot of my other dissectums, but here it is to show how it fared in the extremely heavy rain today 24th July 2020.

August 6th 2020 and extreme heat is forecast over the next few days, so I thought I would post photos of my dissectums before and after to show how they cope. This I feel can be useful for people considering buying a particular variety.

12th August 2020 still very hot and in fact yesterday was the hottest I've ever seen in my garden. Ground temperature hit 48° C by my trees.
They are all now suffering. But I will continue the Summer diary as requested.
My Orangeola is coping very well. ATM.

17th August 2020, now three days of heavy rain and my trees are picking up at last.
A moody look today to my Orangeola, the clouds covered so I took this before anymore rain.
