Yes, and as I said before, the variegation doesn't appear from the start, but when the leaves get more mature.

Some Bloodgood cuttings I stuck into the ground around the dripper during winter pruning is starting to bud out?

Good morning everyone, here are a few that escaped the frost. I thought a red theme today would be nice. I hope they cheer Luke up a little.
They are Shishio Improved, Shin-Deshojo, Inaba shidare and Oshu Shidare.

Thanks Derek. So thoughtful. Just waiting for the morning dose of painkillers to kick in then I’ll be out in the garden inspecting my babies ;-)

That gives me hope. Because a lot of mine are in pots that are probably a little on the large side for them, next winter I might try taking a couple of cuttings and just sticking them to the edge of the pot. What have I got to lose?

Hope they are all OK. Just tonight to worry about as that seems like the last of the Spring frosts.

Right, cuttings can take at unexpected time. But don't be over-optimistic : as long as they're still damp, they can pull out leaves that will live on what is stored in the wood, and suddenly die because they didn't produce roots. But it can work !

Yeah I'm surprised this took as the air layering I did on the Bloodgood didn't working. But just sticking them into the soils with no rooting hormones looks like its working on some of the cuttings.

Two gorgeous specimens of ‘Aconitifolium’ on the sides of a building entrance. They are blooming profusely. It was quite windy, so I could not take very good close up pictures.

Understood N. I do remember you saying something about your work early last year I think, or it might have been earlier. An impressive University....

Good morning everyone, after going back to bed at 0400hrs after spraying my babies for hopefully the last time this Spring, I have just checked them and fingers crossed all but three have made it through this difficult time mainly unscathed.
So here are a few that are just leafing out. Theupy are, Moonrise and another red day, lol.
Amagi Shigure, Reticulatum Purple, Musashino and Garnet tower.

I just wanted to post this one this morning. The branch structure and shape of the leaves I find quite unique and extremely pretty. What do you think?
