After e batches of seed from 3 companies in 3 different countries, i am getting curious about what species can readily hybridize with dill.

Of course fennel and caraway seem comon. How about celeries and relatives, cilantro etc? have read about celery and parsely being used to make hybrids, but never seen it happen in the field.

Our latest field of dill smells of celery quite a lot and has me doubting the seed purity. is there a list of known species that dill will breed with?

    Cheers :)

I've not seen any info on hybrids, but from this paper, it seems Dill (Anethum) and Celery (Apium) are each other's closest relatives, so a hybrid between them might not be too surprising.

Wait, you can hybridize plants with dill? I have to give it a try, as dill is the alpha and omega of Russian cuisine, it could be interesting to give it a little twist!
