Little red mushrooms

    I found these small red mushrooms in the Asian Garden last week. I have no idea what they are. The open caps are 3 cm across. Grey gills. I just thought they were pretty.

    This reminds me of the genus Stropharia, but I was unable to find a species with that bright red colour. You might want to move this post to the Fungi, Lichens and Slime Molds forum to get Frog involved.

    Lovely! You are right about Stropharia @vitog - this species is now called Leratiomyces ceres.

    Thank you both. I puzzled over which forum to add this particular post. While fungi are not curated plants, many appear at the Garden because of the great botanical diversity and soil conditions. They are a fascinating ephemeral show. I kind of wanted to highlight that, as it is the time when many species put forth their sporulating structure.
