Howdy! I found these by my woods house that I go camping in, and when I went to the creek to grab water, I found these guys growing all over. They are firm, crisp, straight ended, and have onion like characteristics. I'm pretty sure these are scallions, but before I go eating them, I'd like some evidence or support.
Try crushing a leaf or a bulb; you'll know right away if it's a member of the onion family. Assuming that Futaba Garlic Chives are just a variety of ordinary Garlic Chives, AKA Chinese Chives, the plants above appear to be too large and robust to be that garden plant.
