Thanks..Bit strange my emerald lace would be pretty red with all the sun on and off and it’s solid green, and the same applies to the peaches and cream..very little white/red variegation.

    re growth agreed..

Good morning, so very dark today, heavy black clouds but no rain atm.
My favourite in my garden today is my very new Red Wine. Possibly because it's new, but it does have some lovely new growth.
Little bit more scorch showing up now on a few others.

I have a new Acer Shirasawanum 'Mr Sun'. The leaves are as to be expected after the Summer heat. But it's a strong healthy maple. Thought I would show the excellent packaging as well.

Good morning, woke early this morning to check on my new Mr Sun. It had a good night, lol.
Some warm air coming in now, which after the last few days is very welcome.
Took these to share, my 'Starfish' is my favourite today followed very closely, if not equal by my 'Corallinum' in the 3rd and last photo.

Acer palmatum ‘Strawberry Spring’ is one of my favorite spring interest Japanese maples. I received it as a present in the mail a few years ago by Talon Buchholz. It is one his newest introductions.

@timnichols I have it in the check out basket. I hate I missed out on 'Ueno yama'. I guess I better stop thinking about 'Strawberry Spring' and push it thru before I miss out on it.

Some translucent effects in late afternoon dappled light.

Though the shaded greens are still my favorite, summer's red/purple/orange overtones are presently morphing to yellow.

Multicolored Sept. 1st this year compared to green of Sept. 28th last year.

@wind-borne good evening G, this is an amazing but strange colour year. But let's take it and enjoy. Your Aureum is just outstanding!!!

New growth on the Acer Siedold 'Shoryu No-Tsume'. A limb fell doing one of the storms and broke the top.

@LoverOfMaples Such a shame D, but new growth!!! You have to look on the bright side.
This is an amazing cultivar and the orange / red colours in a few weeks will make you forget the breakage I'm sure.

Those that are mostly shaded are doing well.

    - 'Emerald Lace'
    - 'Bihoo'
    - 'Katsura' : beautiful in Spring, very common in Summer
    - 'O-sakazuki' : the top leaves get some sun in the afternoon

    acerp-emerald_200905a.jpg acerp-bihoo_200905a.jpg acerpkat02_200905a.jpg acerp-o-sakazuki_200905a.jpg

    In a sunnier place :
    - 'Deshojo'
    - 'Atropurpureum' : it should stand the sun much better but badly needs repotting. What's more, as you can see, the soil is invaded by weeds - shame on me !...

    acerp-deshojo_200905a.jpg acerp_atro01_200905a.jpg

The very vigorous Acer pentaphyllum that is still pushing out new growth :

    acer-penta_200905a.jpg

PS : once again, the tree behind the penta is not a maple, or anything illegal, it's Vitex agnus-castus.

Hi D @Acerholic that’s really awesome. Are you happy with it? What size is that? It looks decent! I’d be well chuffed with that!

@Luke’s Maples good evening Luke, a 5ltr pot approx 3 ft tall, yes I am very pleased with it. The leaves were to be expected at this time of year. But the condition is what I expect from Esveld, 'very good'.
I'm looking forward to it's start in the Spring.
