Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum Dissectum'. It's grafted, badly need repotting - I had to cut abig root coming out of the hole at the bottom of the pot to move it, it's in full sun almost all day, and so far, almost no leaf scorch. If, or when it does, I'll ask a friend to help me move it to a more shaded place. So far, I'm very surprised by how it can take full sun.

The lower leaves that get less sun are showing a bit of green, the upper leaves are still a brilliant red :

@Alain, very vibrant Alain. The dissectums do so well in the sun. I think with the way the Summers are changing, we all will be having more in our collections compared to other groups.

Good morning, just taken these as they have been spoken about the last few days. Still plenty of colour.

I love the pic of Oshu Shidare, such delicate but beautiful colours. Another one for the list lol

@Luke’s Maples, good morning Luke, thanks. Yes it's not one that is mentioned a lot but I'm very happy with it.

Good morning D. I have just been out to check on my babies so took a few pics whilst doing so.
Because most of mine are quite small still and crammed in close to each other I have just done my usual close up of the leaves. Hope you like them.

@Luke’s Maples, good afternoon Luke and Wow, what a beautiful selection. Don't apologise about photos of the leaves, I love those shots.
What amazing colours your still having in the last week of July, you must be chuffed.

Thanks D, that made me smile. Some of them are doing better than others for sure but yes, on the whole I’m satisfied lol. There are a couple that are going to be very impressive in a few years. The Pink Ballerina and Hana Matoi especially. The Wakehurst Pink has been constantly changing and I like it very much. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have it yet.

@Luke’s Maples agree totally Luke , Wakehurst pink is a beautiful cultivar. Yours is further along than mine. I've just got the pink tinges to the outer lobes atm.

    Lovely selection Luke.

Meant to post these here earlier, ended up in the wrong thread!

Acer buergerianum 'Goshiki kaede', proving very drought resistant. I watered it for the first time this year a couple of days ago. It is in pretty heavy shade, not an easy plant to grow.

I also took a couple of our larger A. griseum, just near sunset with the bark looking very dark. It is about 5m now, but planted in 2005! Hasn't been watered at all, but the Paperbark Maple is very tough once established.

Thanks emery. They are both lovely in different ways. I love the green and white variegation. I’m a big fan of these. The Griseum is spectacular. Awesome even. I bet it is magical in Autumn!

Thanks D. No photo enhancing either, I don’t mess with the colour filters.

BTW you were quite right about the large orange dream (potted)I moved to the front of the house..sun from 3.30pm is too much and it’s a bit more exposed to wind at the front..I will move it to under my crabapple tree

@dicky5ash, Orange dream is a sensitive one R.
Talking about messing with colours, did you see the maple seeds being sold on ebay, for a bright blue tree. I bet they sold thousands, lol.

@dicky5ash, agreed R, Ariadne is my favourite of all my maples because of the range of colours in all 3 seasons. What will Autumn bring this year !!!?

@dicky5ash, you and Luke have posted some stunners today. And people say there is no Japanese maple colour in the Summer. Wrong!!!
