Related to lilies?

    Friends gave us this unusual lily-like perennial. The plant grows to about two or two and a half feet tall, with dark green leaves that are long and slender, something like those of a day lily. Its delicate, pale yellow blooms appear in late June. I'd be thankful for ideas regarding its identification.

    It looks like an Iris but, so far, I haven't been able to figure out which it might be.

    Good morning @NorthPeace, Possibly Iris Orientalis. Commonly known as 'Oriental Iris'.

    Thank you! Now that you mention it, I see that it does look more like an iris than a lily. : )

    Thank you! I always thought it looked Oriental, but I hadn't thought of an iris as a possibility. I appreciate your help.
